A logo for Nurture - Counselling for Women

A safe, compassionate space to explore your past experiences, current challenges and understand yourself more deeply.

How I Work

I’m a qualified counsellor offering therapy for women aged 18+, available online anywhere in the UK or in person in Chagford, Dartmoor.

I’m registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Accred.)

“Rachel is very caring and empathic and a great listener. Her gently challenging and informative approach has helped me to make many positive steps forward in my life.”

Our relationship is central. I offer a brave and non-judgemental place where you can show up exactly as you are. All aspects of my clients lives are important to me. As an Integrative Counsellor I can seamlessly combine different theories to suit your unique needs. You can lead the way telling me what is going on for you and I will listen, reflect and help you to make sense of what you are feeling, even if you are unsure where to begin.

We can talk about your early years, childhood, adolescence and adulthood exploring your emotions and feelings and how this affects the ways you relate to others. We can explore how your nervous system has previously responded (using The Polyvagal Theory), bringing you new awareness of how your mind and body work together to help you.

I am experienced in living and working with neurodivergence. I am an LGBTQ+ ally.

About Me

A lifetime of nurturing growth

My background has always centred around caring and supporting. I began my career as a Nursery Assistant working with children with additional needs, beginning a lifetime love of understanding what each person needs to thrive. I later trained as a massage therapist and enjoyed creating a calm restorative space for women.

Over time, I noticed how often women put the needs of others first, leaving their own physical and emotional needs unseen or unheard. This is what inspired me to train

as a counsellor.

Alongside my therapeutic work I tend to a garden by the River Teign, growing flowers and finding balance and joy in the cycle of seasons. When I am not working I can often be found by the sea.

TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced Diploma in Counselling - Diploma in Therapeutic Massage - Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology - Certified in Trauma Skills for Bodyworkers - Certified in Self Harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention - Certified Pregnancy and Infant Loss Practitioner - Certified Walk and Talk Therapist

Outdoor Counselling (Walk & Talk Therapy)

If being in nature helps you feel grounded, we can take therapy outdoors. I’m a certified walk-and-talk counsellor, and Dartmoor offers beautiful spaces to walk or sit -- by the River Teign, in the fields, or in the woods. You choose the pace and the place.
